Developed by Peter Lang, a psychoanalyst specialising in systemic organisational theory, this activity facilitates the exploration and appreciation of individual competencies within the team context.

Understanding the Market

Imagine a bustling marketplace where each team member owns a booth. Your task is to create a poster showcasing your unique skills, competencies, and aspirations within the team framework.

Round 1: Individual Presentations

  1. Competencies on Display:
    Present the skills and abilities directly relevant to the team’s purpose and goals.
  2. What’s Beneath the Surface:
    Highlight additional competencies not explicitly requested but still possessed by you.
  3. Desired Learnings:
    Share what you hope to gain or learn from your fellow team members.

Round 2: Peer Appreciation and Support

  1. Appreciation:
    Identify and express excitement about the showcased competencies of your peers.
  2. Ability Spotting:
    Recognise other relevant competencies possessed by your peers.
  3. Offering Support:
    Suggest ways to help your peers acquire the skills they desire.

Debriefing and Reflection

Reflect on the feedback received, acknowledging the emotions and insights that arise. Consider the collective wealth of skills and aspirations displayed across all posters, and addressing how all of this can be utilised in your daily work.
